BOTCH! BOTCH! BOTCH!
It's a very sad Ruth writing today. I used to adore TNA. I used to sit on bed screaming and cheering all the matches on TNA. Now it's been destroyed. I cannot believe what it has turned into. I am speechless. I wasted 90 minutes of my day on this.
8 man match to become #1 contender for X Division Championship
Willie Mack vs Acey Romoero vs Chris Bey vs Daga vs Rohit Raju vs Jake Crist vs Cousin Jake vs Trey
This was at best an okay match. Overall the match was slow and not very entertaining. It's definitely not the high flying, fast paced X Divison I used to remember. It was a spot fest where everyone shows off their moves. There were wrestlers of all different shapes and sizes, but by allowing this you lose the pace and high flying. My favourite wrestler was Daga who did a jump from the top rope. The Boss's favourite wrestler was Cousin Jake who got some strong moves in. The only highlight of the match was the six man Tower of Doom or Superplex carried out on Acey Romero. That move made me gobsmacked, and seemed to take all the energy from the wrestlers. The pace slowed and out of no where Willie Mack pinned Cousin Jake. Willie Mack did not deserve the win, he barely did any moves. Daga or Cousin Jake should of won.
Favourite Move: Tower of Doom on Romero.
The sound on the promo was awful so I can't review what happened. I was watching this on a Bush TV which is practically brand new, so it's definitely the production by Impact.
Moose vs Chase Stevens
Moose had the crowd chanting for him. This match was a squash match and Chase didn't get much of an offense, although Chase carried out one strong German suplex on Moose, Moose spears Chase and gets the win. The manager of Impact comes out (if you can call him that) and has a go at Moose, and to be honest with you I am not too sure why. Suicide pops up out of nowhere-very random- and takes him out by leaping from the top rope, well actually Suicide botched this move! Moose caught him and fell down! I am not following the story line here...
Favourite Move: DO NOT HAVE ONE
Some senseless promo starring Raven and a female wrestler who has her face painted. They talk about breaking free. I feel like I have taken too much of my Epilepsy medication.
Another senseless promo where Willie Mack is saying something to Reno Scum and Pac, but he isn't speaking clearly so I have absolutely no idea what he is saying. Reno Scum and Pac respond again I have no idea what they said. Lucky for me Josh Matthews the commentator explains that Pac and Scum were trash talking him.
Reno Scum vs The Rascalz
I really hoped I could write something positive. Usually the tag teams pull a show together. Don't hold your breath. Literally Reno Scum were all over The Rascalz. It felt like a squash match. One of the poor Rascalz had his face rubbed into the armpit of one of the Reno Scum members. Disgusting! I hope Reno Scum use deodorant. There was a shimmer of light where Wentz speeds the match up and he works with his tag partner but again nothing special. Reno Scum pin The Rascalz.
Favourite Move: DO NOT HAVE ONE.
Tenille Dashwood promo was basically a model posing.
Another senseless promo called #cancelculture. More like #cancelimpact.
Madman Fulton and Dave Crist vs Sabu and Rhino
Yes you read correctly SABU! How is this guy still wrestling? He has been battered and scarred by his career. This is madness. The match was slow as Sabu is old. There was some wrestling on the outside mainly between Rhino, Crist and Madman. Sabu just walked around the ring like an old man. Back in the ring a few steel chairs were brought in by Sabu he clumsily threw himself onto Fulton on the outside. Rhino gored Crist for the win. For me Madman and Crist should of won. Impact should be pushing new talent, not some OAP's.
Favourite Move: Only because I am an ECW fan the Gore!
Undead Realm segment was basically two women dressed up in Halloween gear trying to do something based on the Dungeon of Doom. It was a low budget horror 'match' which got neither woman over. Instead they were both transported to some other land... Oh by the way the women were called Kaju and Sue as I found out after.
MAIN EVENT
Taya Valkyrie and Michael Egin vs Tessa Blanchard and Eddie Edwards
These four carry this company on their shoulders. I thought the women were supposed to be amazing wrestlers, and I thought the men were supposed to be amazing wrestlers. Instead we got a botch fest. The whole match tried to put over that Tessa could fight men, but Elgin barely touched her, and on more than one occasion her ass was saved by Eddie Edwards. I have to say Tessa did a great Tornado DDT on Elgin but other then that the match was messy and full of botches. This was supposed to be a dream match according to Josh Matthews, instead I nearly fell asleep and had a nightmare!
Back to the poorly made horror film. They end up killing some guy called James who says "Who booked this sh*t?" I am asking that question myself James.
Don't waste your lockdown watching this. The glory days of TNA have gone. All we have are memories, and as James pointed out "Who booked this sh*t?" One of the stars is basically telling you to NOT watch Impact. I am gutted as I grew up watching TNA and the show is now unrecognisable. To be honest I love reviewing wrestling but this made me sad because the talent is not used correctly, and the storylines are poor. I feel sad now. I think I may go and watch Lockdown from 2005.
The 3 Count
No 3 count. Instead this show should tap out!
Ring the Bell-Show Recommendations
There are none to watch. Instead go and watch the old TNA pay-per-views. There are some quality matches and they will make you smile.
