WWE Smackdown 03/04/2020

Hey everybody, it’s Ruthie here reviewing Smackdown.

The Usos open the show by coming to the ramp in a energetic and entertaining mood. They are talking about chat show hosts and I laughed my head off when they mentioned Maury... “YOU ARE NOT THE DAD” had me in hysterics.
The New Day come out still full of energy but less entertaining. They talk smack to the Usos and the Boss and I burst into laughter when Big E says “inserting ourselves into the Amal’s of time.” The tag teams argue like toddlers until Miz and Morrison the Tag Team champions enter and remind them this is Miz TV and they are the best...blah blah. I switched off a bit. The segment was entertaining especially when they started brawling. I think less talking and more brawling from these men is best!

Naomi vs Lacey Evans vs Tamina
Sasha and Bayley join Michael Cole on commentary. Sasha and Bayley make great heels and the bickering adds to the commentary. Bayley as a heel confuses me, but she is refining her heel character. Naomi and Lacey double team Tamina. All three women show a strong offence. Each woman has a spot to show off their moves. A highlight for me was a strong elbow from Lacey Evans. You can tell Tamina is a super wrestler and has so much potential. The women keep wrestling and showing their moves off. Tamina does an amazing Samoan drop to Naomi. I felt the pain! Bayley intervenes and attacks Naomi, the Tamina super kicks Naomi and gets the win count. Tamina wins! The match was really strong and we saw the great potential all three women will be taking to Wrestlemania.
Favourite move: Samoan Drop by Tamina

We go back stage where Mandy is asking Tucker how Otis is.

Flashback to the Ric Flair Fairwell match with Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 24.

A look back at Elias being dropped from the platform by Lion King Corbin last week. Their match is still scheduled at Wrestlemania 24.

Otis pacing back and forth.Tucker mentions to Otis that Mandy had asked after him. Otis seems happy, and then receives a text. He leaves Tucker.

Tucker vs Dolph Ziggler
This is a strong match setting up for Otis vs Ziggler at Wrestlemania. For me during the match Tucker looked the stronger out of the two and I feel WWE need to push him more as a single competitor. As usual Ziggler makes himself and Tucker look amazing. The match is very back and forth with strong mat work from Ziggler. Ziggler does a beautiful chin lock on Tucker.  Ziggler is a powerful wrestler and also needs to be used more, not just in Z-class storylines. They up on the outside where Ziggler is thrown into the steps. Ziggler manages to get a thumb to Tucker’s eye. He then carries the Zigzag on Tucker on the metal steps. Insane! Ziggler picks up the steps, and Mandy runs out to stop the violence going any further. The referee calls for the bell to ring. Ziggler is disqualified and Tucker wins the match. Otis runs out to help his friend.A really strong and entertaining match.
Favourite move: Zigzag by Dolph Ziggler

A hacker comes on screen and reveals that Sonya and Ziggler have been working together to stop Otis and Mandy getting together.

Daniel Bryan vs Shinsuke Nakamura
I was super happy because The Boss and our boys were chanting YES! So awesome! These wrestlers are so well matched. Their mat work is exceptional. I feel there was no need for Gulak, Cesaro or Sami to be there. They feel like spare parts! The match was strong with both wrestlers also being high flyers. A nice half crab by Daniel Bryan to Nakamura. Plus some strong strong kicks from Nakamura. Nakamura has awesome ring awareness putting his legs in the ropes during a count. Daniel has the S1 on Nakamura and I thought he was going to win until Cesaro interfered. So sad to see all that Cesaro can be is a minion to Sami Zayn. WWE USE YOUR TALENT BETTER! Gulak and Daniel Bryan get beaten down. A really strong match but there is talent that could be used so much better.

Look back at the Firefly Funhouse segment last week. Bray drinking this concoction he had made reminded me of the Hogan Vitamin days.

John Cena comes to the ring. When he speaks now it feels like a politician speaking to his people. Cena isn’t afraid of The Fiend, and feels Goldberg has shown The Fiend has weaknesses. Cena accepts the Firefly Funhouse Challenge. He likes the unknown. Dark puppets surround the ring chanting “forever.” The creepy rabbits says “he’s here.” The studio goes dark... lights back up and on the platform is The Fiend. I jumped out of my skin when Bray Wyatt appears behind Cena in the ring. The scariest and most gripping ending to Smackdown in a long time.

3 Count (3 points of interest)
1. Tucker vs Dolph Ziggler
2. Daniel Bryan vs Shinsuke Nakamura
3. John Cena and Bray Wyatt

Ring the Bell (show recommendation?)
I recommend this show especially before Wrestlemania! A really entertaining watch!
