- New champ Braun Strowman cuts a scripted, by the numbers winners' promo before Shinsike Nakamura interrupts. Naka does his crazy/comedy act, declaring to Braun in Japanese 'The weak are meat, the strong eat' after a really lame 'knock, knock' joke. Cesaro attacks, Naka kicks Braun and runs. The match is et for tonight's main event and off we go to our first match....
- Alexa Bliss/Nikki Cross defend tag titles against Kabuki Warriors in a Wrestlemania rematch. There's a pretty high pace and a big twisted Bliss to the outside by Alexa before Cross hits a twisting neckbreaker to retain. Solid enough opener but not as good as Mania match. Nice spot where Asuka does her Japanese commentary before 'Car Crash' Cross gets jealous, shoves her over and pats her own tits in celebration! You never know what you're gonna get with 'Car Crash'. Next.
Elias' ghost sings a song on the same podium he died falling from a few weeks ago. References himself as 'Simba', knew it! Called the Lion King metaphor on the show's review back when it happened.
- Let's take the piss out of a fat, mentally challenged guy again as Otis' story arc is shown. His mate Tucker comes out and we have Tucker vs Dolph Ziggler. Tucker batters Ziggler for a few minutes before Ziggler hits one superkick (his only move) and wins. Nothing match, Ziggler avoids losing to both members of Heavy Machinery in less than a week. Tucker has a good size and some decent moves, could maybe be used better.
- 'The Dirt Sheet' now as Tag champs Miz and Morrison deliver some 'good news'. Rag on Otis, before Morrison has a great line referencing the Taker/AJ Styles Boneyard match, quipping a part of it reminded him of what he thinks before every match...cue AJ 'Don't bury me, please don't bury me'.
Another great jab too as they cite new champ Braun as actually making it to every show, unlike most of the champs they've had round here!' Yes guys, rag on those part time champs!
Next they sing a song which isn't as impressive before Uso's interrupt and they trade barbs until (you guessed it) New Day appear. Big E wants the three members of the teams who didn't compete to fight for titles which is made for next week.
Another singles match for tag titles? And without any chance of being as good as the amazing Mania ladder match. If we must...
- Lucha House Party vs The Forgotten Sons, the Sons looking like Hell's Angels who've taken a wrong turn into the arena. High flyers vs power-based ground game. The Luchas get the party started with some flips and splashes before the Sons shut it down with a top rope stomp to the chest. Quick match to get debuting Sons over. Not a bad look, keep an eye on them, see how they progress.
- Sasha Banks strides to her trombone music before Bayley joins her in the ring. Will Sasha finally turn or are they holding off till there's a crowd? Well Bayley deserves a punch from her as she continues the theme of crap doorbell jokes, 'Ding Dong who's there? No one cos I beat you all..Haha!'
Tamina enters and gets the piss taken out of her for being the first one eliminated at Mania. Challenges Bayley for title but she'll only accept if she can beat Sasha Banks first. Sasha's not happy and the match is set for next week. No turn, but it's coming.
- Sheamus, out of nowhere now, vs no entrance but massive guy, Cal Bloom. Bloom, a Dolph Ziggler on steroids, gets squashed in around a minute, Thought he may have done a little more for a guy of his size. Sheamus is back. Skip.
Quick network plug as we look back over the early part of Jeff Hardy's career. Very little of AEW's Matt. Ruth quips he must have been 'Deleted!'
- Main event, Braun Strowman vs Shinsike Nakamura. Can Naka do it? Or does he have about as much chance as seeing some live sport this weekend?
Well he gets chucked all around the ring for a while before getting in a couple of kicks to the face for a two. Then gets battered again and succumbs to a running powerslam in little more than a squash to get over the new champ. You deserve more Naka. You too Cesaro on the outside.
But then Firefly Funhouse out of nowhere as Bray Wyatt puts over his 'win' over John Cena before recapping Braun's past with the Wyatt family. Bray wants his title back (understandably, he shouldn't have lost it to Goldberg) and Braun is ready to let him in which upsets a menacing looking Bray as we close for the night.
3 Count (3 points of interest?)
1. Only the 'Dirt Sheet' segment which featured the highly entertaining Miz and Morrison unloading some nice quips to a few laughs.
Ring The Bell (Show Recommendation?)
Mediocre show, nothing essential to see here as we struggle amidst the limited roster available to set the post-Mania table for the weeks ahead.
