MTW Best Of The Week!

Best Of The Week!

Match Of The Week - Rey Fenix vs Lance Archer (Ruthie's pick)

This match was fast paced and had me holding my breath throughout. I jumped up and down as it a was real back and to offensive match.  Archer and Fenix really know how to put on a show. Archer who is a giant walking the top rope and Fenix flying around the ring. A real fast paced and acrobatic match that will have you oohing and ahhhing. Oh don't forget the amount of near fall's, they will have you jumping off the sofa! MUST SEE!!

Gallus vs Pretty Deadly - NXT UK - NXT UK Tag Team Title (Chris' Pick)

I'm going to be honest, I haven't seen a lot of these teams and didn't really know what to expect coming in. Main eventing NXT UK these guys made me sit up and take notice with a really exciting, entertaining tag match. Numerous close falls, twists and excellent manoeuvres made me totally invested in this contest and view Pretty Deadly as a team to watch in the future. Keep an eye on them and take a look at this match!

Gem Of The Week - Yuka Sakazaki vs Emi Sakura in AEW WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ELIMINATOR TOURNAMENT (Ruthie's pick)

I really enjoyed this match. Yuka came in the real underdog whilst Sakura came in with her minions. It did not look good for Yuka. The match was fast paced and had me really cheering Yuka Sakazaki. Yuka Sakazaki is a high flying wrestler whilst Emi Sakura is more a mat based wrestler. There styles were a beautiful contrast creating a beautiful symphony. A real solid and fast paced match that will have you rooting for the underdog!

Britt Baker vs Nyla Rose - AEW Dynamite (Chris' Pick)

As Ruth will no doubt tell you, I'm a huge fan of Britt Baker. I think she is a tremendous promo and a really good worker and she deserves a chance at being AEW women's champion. Because of this I was really invested in the match and hoping she could pull out an upset against the dominant Nyla Rose. Needless to say I only needed the edge of my seat for this one as the women put on a back and forth clinic I didn't know which way it would ultimately go. The ending sequences were amazing and had me hooked. Here's hoping one day soon the good doctor can get the championship she deserves!

Promo Of The Week - DECAY PROMO IMPACT WRESTLING (Ruthie's pick)

Decay cut a really creepy promo with Rosemary taking the lead. Creepy Steve looked well.. creepy and Taurus he just looked menacing. The promo was very alternative and had a dark theme, however, I was buying every word Rosemary was saying. They are coming for the championships in Impact! A really different but excellent promo that MUST be checked out!

Jon Moxley Opening AEW Dynamite  (Chris' Pick)

Moxley always delivers a great promo and this week, after opening Dynamite with a win over Ryan Nemeth, was no exception. Passionately running through his career and taking aim at Kenny Omega for the upcoming exploding barbed-wire deathmatch, he grabs you and makes you believe every word he says as only the Mox can. Is his career on the line at Revolution? With the way Mox speaks, you just never know.

Move Of The Week - EMI SAKURA ROLLING SURFBOARD ON YUKA SAKAZAKI, AEW WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ELIMINATOR (Chris/Ruthie's pick)

This rolling surfboard had me oohing and aahing. A really impressive move that is rarely seen. It made you root more for Sakazaki. Sakazaki must of been dizzy, and you MUST check this move out!!

Runner Up - Lance Archer and Rey Fenix - Spanish Flea - AEW Dynamite

WOW! MOMENT OF THE WEEK - MOOSE SPEARING JAKE SOMETHING THROUGH A TABLE IMPACT WRESTLING (Ruthie's pick)

OMG! This move came out of no where. I was so happy for Jake Something at the end of his match then WHAM! Moose spears Jake Something THROUGH A TABLE! I love tables and this prop was used excellently by Moose. You really didn't expect him to then take the show hostage... You will have to find out if Impact was freed!

The Miz cashes in Money In The Bank and ACTUALLY wins WWE RAW Title - WWE Elimination Chamber (Chris' Pick)

Ruth will hate me for this but I don't care. As much as I loved the Moose angle on Impact, The Miz actually cashing in his MITB and beating Drew McIntyre for the WWE Men's Raw Title was a big shock to me no matter what you think of it. Do I particularly like it? No, Miz shouldn't be champ in 2021. Did it surprise me and make me say WOW? I'd be lying if I said it didn't.

Show Of The Week- IMPACT ON TUESDAY 23RD FEBRUARY 2021 (Ruthie's pick)

Well this may be a shocker for some people but I am picking Impact as my show of the week. The matches were excellent quality and kept me guessing throughout. The show had me rooting for stars like Jake Something. the mix of matches and some surprising moments makes for a MUST SEE SHOW!

AEW Dynamite (Chris' Pick)

Dynamite was the best show for me this week. Nothing overly spectacular but with matches such as a solid main event, the aforementioned Britt Baker/Nyla Rose match and Hangman/Kassidy coupled with the Sting/Darby Allin (he ziplined to the ring!) and Young Bucks/Jericho MJF angles (they beat up the Bucks dad!), this was a really entertaining, easy watch.
