Best Of The Week!
Match Of The Week - (Ruthie's pick) Brian Cage & Ricky Starks vs Sting and TNT Champion Darby Allin @ AEW REVOLUTION
I really loved this match! Sting is one of my all time favourites, and he was fighting alongside one of my new favourites Darby Allin in a Street Fight match. The match was held in an undisclosed location in a cinematic style. I am even going to say the Cinematic style used by AEW rivalled WWE's Wrestlemania 36 with Undertaker vs AJ Styles. All four men fought their hearts out, and there are several spots that will have you holding your breath. Brian Cage and Ricky Starks fight dirty and use whatever they can find....including a window! Darby Allin used his body as a weapon as well as everything else, and he did most of the high spots. Sting looked as menacing and invincible as I've ever seen him. Get ready to hold your breath and GO WATCH THIS MATCH!
Finn Balor Vs Adam Cole - NXT (Chris' Pick)
This contest lived up to my expectations of two super talented guys laying it all out for the NXT title. A back and forth twenty minute match which seems to fly by, we get a tonne of quality wrestling mixed with high flying moves and some nice false finishes. What you'd expect from Balor and Cole, it's also well set up for their next feuds with a hot angle post match. Super stuff.
Gem Of The Week - Ace Austin VS Chris Bey - IMPACT (Chris/Ruthie's pick)
Runner Up - Darby Allin VS Scorpio Sky - AEW Dynamite
Promo Of The Week - Peyton Royce on Raw Talk (Chris/Ruthie's pick)
All I can say is watch this PROMO NOW! At the beginning of March Peyton Royce's mum replied to a post about Charlotte Flair's promo on Raw saying "Of course you do. How about giving others a try." Well Peyton's Mum is right. The Raw division has a group of such talented women, yet its only a handful of the same women are used. Royce took her own destiny in her hands and cut this promo. She should be given ring time, she should not be cutting this sort of promo on Raw Talk. This promo belongs on RAW! WWE is missing out on strong promos from Royce and if they continue to do this, will Royce stay at WWE?
Runner Up - Kenny Omega/Don Callis Address Revolution - AEW Dynamite
Move Of The Week - Suicide Dive countered into Cutter - Scorpio Sky/ Darby Allin - AEW Dynamite (Chris/Ruthie's pick)
I agree with Chris, finally, Scorpio Sky is getting a push... let's see where his journey is going to take him.
Runner Up - Darby Allin 2nd Floor Coffin Drop - AEW Revolution
WOW! MOMENT OF THE WEEK - (Ruthie's pick)
Moxley and Eddie Kingston on AEW Dynamite
MJF Turns on Inner Circle and Forms New Stable - AEW Dynamite (Chris' Pick)
After months and months of build we finally have our answer to will MJF take over Chris Jericho as leader of the Inner Circle. A resounding NO. But not without two masterful swerves in which we think he will and then think the Circle are wise to him and he's gonna get a much deserved beating.
The WOW factor of seeing where this leads, to a new Horsemen like group led by MJF and the beatdown they ultimately give Jericho and the Inner Circle is mind-blowing stuff. A brilliant segment all the better for the long build. Now who is excited for the likes of MJF and FTR being together? Me for one because it's gonna be awesome!
Show Of The Week- (Ruthie's pick) Impact Wrestling
AEW Dynamite (Chris' Pick)
An excellent show recovering from the ashes of Revolution's failed explosion. We get a hot opener in Matt Jackson and (2021 Dynamite MVP) Rey Fenix, incredible promos from Moxley/Kingston and Omega/Callis and then throw in a top notch TNT title match and a unbelievably well done closing angle and you have our show of the week. Well Done AEW for bouncing back from the huge botch at the end of the PPV!
